Want to reserve a ramada/picnic area for family or corporate gathering? The Parks and Recreation Department offers a limited number of reservable ramadas in traditional city parks as well in the more quiet setting of our desert preserves. Dozens of additional parks throughout the city also have ramadas that are available for day use on a first-come, first-served basis. Consumption of beer and use of amplified music and inflatable bounce houses require permits. They be can purchased AND ramada reservations can be made at any City of Phoenix Recreation or Community Center or administrative office. Beer permits cost $28, amplified music and bounce house permits cost $10.

Features: This park, located in central Phoenix, has two uncovered Island Picnic areas available for reservations Monday thru Sunday during park hours. There are no reservations on holidays. Each area has 6 picnic tables and 1 grill. Each area's capacity is 50 people. Groups with more than 50 people can reserve the entire space.
Fee:  None
Guidelines: A reserved area must be claimed within 30 minutes of requested start time or it will revert to a first-come, first-serve basis. Amplified music is permitted on the Island area only with staff approval and a sound permit. Inflatables are allowed with an inflatable permit.Fees are based on whole day reservations. Beer is allowed only with alcohol permit. 

Margaret T. Hance Park

Features: This park, also located in central Phoenix, has two ramadas, each with a capacity of 75 people available for reservations seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Ramadas are not reservable on most holidays and when large special events are scheduled at the park. Inflatable moonwalks and on-site catering require prior approval from park manager by calling 602-534-2406.

Guidelines:  The ramadas must be reserved two full working days prior to reservation.  Reserved ramadas must be claimed within 30 minutes of requested start time or they will lose their reservation and park staff will not be available to open gates, ramada and/or restrooms. Piñatas and water balloons are not allowed.  No amplified music is permitted in the ramada areas. Ramadas are lighted, fenced, gated and locked. When not reserved, the ramadas are available for walk-in use between Monday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.  There is no driving or skating of any kind on park grounds.   Use of any type of tape is prohibited.  Reservations can be made no more than 6 months in advance. Beer is permitted with an alcohol permit.

Features: Steele Indian School Park has two medium sized ramadas (accommodate 50) located in the Neighborhood Park area of the Park and five small ramadas (accommodate 20) located in the Phoenix Green area of the Park. All of them have BBQ grills.  The Phoenix Green area of the Park is flood irrigated so fields could be wet or moist. See Steele Indian School Ramada Use Rules.

Guidelines: All of the ramadas are available on a first come first served basis. All open space is available on a first come first served basis, unless the area is scheduled for a Special Event. Special Events are held in the Amphitheater area of the Park or in the Phoenix Green area of the Park. Mountain/Desert Preserve Picnic Areas

North Mountain Park

are 5 a.m.-11 p.m., open 7

Ramada at North Mountain Park

Features: North Mountain Park has several areas that can be reserved. The Havasupai Ramada has a capacity of 150, 8 tables,10 grills, restrooms & parking. The Yavapai Ramada has a capacity of 100, 12 tables, 6 grills, parking. Pima Areas 1 & 2, capacity of 50 people each, 6 tables, 2 grills, restrooms at ranger station. This area also boasts a children's playground, located between Havasupia and Pima 1 & 2 areas. There are nine ramada areas available on a first-come, first served basis: Gila Ramada, capacity of 10, 2 tables, 1 grill, parking; Tewa Ramada, capacity of 40, 6 tables, 6 grills, paking at Pima Ramada; Maricopa Ramada, capacity of 20, 3 tables, 2 grills, parking; Quechan Ramada, capacity of 20, 2 tables, 1 grill, parking; Cocopah Ramada, capacity 70, 7 tables, 7 grills, parking; Piute Ramada, capacity 100, 10 tables, 1 grill, limited parking; Ute Ramada, capacity 10, 2 tables, 1 grill, parking; Kaibab Ramada, capacity 90, 9 tables, 1 grill, parking; Ak-Chin Ramada, capacity of 20, 2 tables, 1 grill, parking; Pima 3 & 4 Ramada, capacity of 50, 5 tables, 5 grills, parking. Electrical outlets are available at most ramadas; however, please limit the use of multiple high powered items such as microwaves, televisions, multiple crock pots, etc. Havasupai, Yavapaii, and Tewa have concrete pads/dance floors.

There also are several ramadas available on a first-come, first-served basis. The smallest can accommodate 10 people, the largest up to 90 people.

All other ramadas and picnic areas are available on a first come, first serve basis. Amplified music is not permitted.  There is only one reservation per day per ramada. Fees are based on whole day reservations. All other ramadas at the park are first come, first served. Maximum capacities for ramadas and other picnic areas will be strictly enforced. Beer is ONLY allowed. Beer permits are allowed for reservable ramadas. No glass bottles are allowed. No moon walks, dunk tanks, pinatas, or inflatables allowed. Reservation hours are from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Parking is for all park users and is not guaranteed. Parking maybe limited. Call (602) 262-7901 for ranger dispactch if needed.

Ramada at North Mountain Park

Features: South Mountain Park/Preserve has several reservable picnic areas:
Big Ramada
Capacity 150, 8 tables,7 grills, dance platform, small swingset, water faucet, inflatables allowed with a permit, restrooms nearby, parking for 70; Little Ramada Capacity 80, 4 tables, 4 grills, dance platform, small swingset nearby, inflatables allowed with a permitt, restrooms nearby, parking for 30. Both ramada's are on a gentle rise that offers sweeping views of the Phoenix skyline. Beer permits are available but music permits are not available. No glass bottles allowed.

Fees: None

Las Lomitas Las Lomitas is closed until further notice for Maintenance.
Contains 12 tables, restrooms and a dance platform that accommodates 200 people. Beer permits are available but music permits are not available.
Fees: None

The Activity Complex
*Fees:  $20 per hour with a three hour minimum
Minimum $200 deposit. Beer Permits: $28

Features: Papago Park has numerous reservable ramadas. All ramadas are equipped with electricity (unless noted) with one 110 volt electrical switch (cannot plug multiple high powered items into this switch such as microwave, DJ equipment, multiple crock pots, etc.) and water, and are lighted. Additional details are listed below. Ramada's are not reservable on City of Phoenix holidays. Only ramadas listed below that include a fee are reservable. All others are available only on a first-come, first-served basis.

Reservable Ramada's:
RAMADA #2
has four, 18-foot tables and three grills. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms located across roadway. There is available parking for 24 vehicles.  Maximum capacity of 80.
**Fee: $35

RAMADA #9 and #10 Island These ramadas must be reserved as a pair. They have eight tables of various sizes, two grills, and two fireplaces. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms located at Ranger Office. There are 42 parking spaces and available overflow parking in the Phoenix Zoo parking lot. Rental includes stage and a horseshoe pit. Maximum capacity is 250. **Fee: $60

RAMADA #16 has four, 21-foot tables and three grills. Restrooms at SE end of Lake WL#2. Available parking for 20 vehicles. Maximum capacity is 80. **Fee: $35

RAMADA #12 (Lake #1) has one 21-foot long table and one grill. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available Parking for 11 vehicles. Maximum capacity is 20. Electricity available only after sunset.*Not reservable. Available only on first-come, first-served basis.

RAMADA #13 (Lake #1) has one 21-foot long table and one grill. Amplified music is permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available Parking for 42. Maximum capacity is 20. Electricity available only after sunset.

RAMADA #14 has two 21-foot long tables and two grills. Amplified Music is NOT Permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available parking for 12 vehicles. Maximum capacity of 40.

RAMADA #15 has four tables and four grills.  Amplified music is NOT permitted. Restrooms at SE end of Lake #2. Available parking for 12 vehicles. Maximum capacity of 60.

Beer permits for Phoenix parks are available at all Parks Division Offices and at the Parks and Recreation Department Main Office on the 16th floor of Phoenix City Hall, 200 W. Washington St. Permits are $28. Beer is permitted only in outdoor facilities and no glass containers are permitted.
